Fostering young talents – this is the goal of the Swiss Foundation for Excellence and Talent in Biomedical Research, which was founded at the Biozentrum in 2008. For this purpose, the Foundation supports highly qualified young Postdocs in the research area from around the globe with contributions for Lecture Tours to Swiss universities and research institutes.

According to the Foundation’s President Joachim Seelig the stipends aim at “promoting excellent scientific research in the area of biomedicine as well as increasing the attractiveness of Switzerland as a research centre for young talents in this field”.
Prof.W.Wahli is one of the foundation Vice-presidents.
