Diego obtained his PhD in September 2009 in the group of Dr. Patrick Forterre, at the University of “Paris Sud XI” and at the Pasteur Institute, in Paris, France. He worked on 2 projects : 1) The role of mobile elements in bacterial and archaeal genomes. 2) The archaeal Xer/dif system for chromosomal resolution.

He will join Prof. Kaessmann’s lab on April 1st, 2010, as a post-doctoral fellow.
