Frontiers in Metabolism 2017

“From System physiology to precision medicine”

This Life Sciences Symposium, co-organised by EPFL and EMBO Press, will be held from 24 to 26 October 2017 (2.5 days) at the EPFL campus in Lausanne, Switzerland at the Swiss Tech Convention Center.

Novel findings that link basic concepts emerging from the fields of cell biology, signaling, metabolomics, physiology, genetics/genomics, and aging with the pathogenesis and management of the metabolic syndrome a major medical challenge will be discussed.

This meeting will create a truly interdisciplinary environment that brings together basic scientists and clinicians with an interest in metabolic disease, to foster innovative ideas in this area.

The conference will comprise the following subthemes:

  • Cell Biology, Organelles and Metabolism
  • Signaling, Intermediary Metabolism, and Metabolomics
  • Genetics – Omics
  • Metabolism, Diseases, and Aging
  • Tissue-specific metabolism
  • Public lectures

The conference website (http://lss2017.epfl.ch) will be launched by the end of September 2016
