Postdoctoral positions: DTI-IMPORT IV Call open

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS – DTI INTERNATIONAL POSTDOCTORAL PROGRAMME

The Dulbecco Telethon Institute (DTI) and the Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine (TIGEM), two of the Telethon foundation research centers, are opening the IV call for applications for postdoctoral fellows in the frame of the International Postdoctoral Programme “DTI-IMPORT” (co-funded by the European Community within the Marie Curie Actions of the 7FWP).

The DTI and TIGEM are multi-disciplinary Institutions with different locations in Italy, whose PIs are recognized leaders in developmental biology, epigenetics, structural or computational biology and cell biology. They study mechanisms at the basis of rare genetic diseases including disorders that affect mitochondrial function, neurodegenerative disorders, neuromuscular and kidney disorders, liver metabolism, inherited retinal degeneration and lysosomal storage diseases. The DTI and TIGEM are now searching for highly skilled and motivated Postdocs(experienced researchers) to join the Programme.

Applicants must:

– Comply with the definition of Incoming or Re-integrating researcher.

Incoming researcher: hold UE Member States, associated countries or third countries nationalities. Italians are eligible to apply under this scheme provided that they have resided in another UE Member State for at  least 3 Years.

Re-integrating researcher: hold UE Member State or associated countries nationalities, but having carried out research in a third country for at least 3 years. Italians are eligible to apply under this scheme provided that they have resided in a third-Country (outside EU) for at least 3 Years.

For both categories, researchers must have resided for less than 12 months in Italy at the time of application (compulsory national service and/or short stays such as holidays are not taken into account).

– Hold a PhD or equivalent at the time of the call deadline. In any case, they must have a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 10 years of working experience in research from the date of their degree that allows them to enroll in a Ph.D program.

– Have at least one first author publication in international peer reviewed journals (published in English). Manuscripts in press at the moment of the application are acceptable, provided that they are attached to the application form along with the letter of acceptance by the Journal.

Postdoctoral scientists will be granted a competitive salary plus allowances as well as costs relative to participation in national and international scientific meetings as well as practical courses, in agreement with the PI. Fellows will be offered a two-years temporary employment contract covering full social security contributions, work insurance and maternity leave.
