S.Martin got a ERC Starting Independent Researcher Grant

Sophie Martin got a ERC (European Research Council) Starting Independent Researcher Grant in July 2010.

L’European Research Council (ERC) vient de faire connaître les lauréats des «Starting Grants 2010», bourses de jeunes chercheurs indépendants. Un montant de 580 millions d’euros a été octroyé à 427 scientifiques talentueux issus de 39 nationalités. Parmi eux, Frédéric Gachon et Sophie Martin de la Faculté de biologie et de médecine de l’UNIL. (See the whole text).

Changins meeting : November 11, 2010.

This meeting aims at increasing the exchanges between researchers of the Lausanne-Geneva region and is open to all (registration is free, but you must register to attend). This year’s topic is: “Aging and Longevity”, but poster presentations will include the entire research fields of the Lausanne-Geneva region.

A new PhD Student in S.Martin’s group

Manasi Kelkar obtained her Master in Zoology with specialization in Molecular Biology in the Department of Zoology of the University of Pune (India). During her studentship she worked on the project : “Differential expression patterns of DNA methyltransferases in mice tissues”.

She will join  Sophie Martin’s lab as a PhD Student on October 1st, 2010.
