Alessandro Simi received in 2009 the Master degree in Medical-pharmaceutical Biotechnologies from the University of Genova where he studied the toxicological effects of prion proteins. He started his PhD in 2011 in the lab of Luca Berdondini at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) in Genova. There he was working on the optimization and development of novel high-density microelectrode array technology (CMOS-MEA with 4096 microelectrodes) to study the electrophysiological activity of primary neuronal networks in-vitro and neuronal stem cells differentiation/integration. In April 2015 he joined Prof. Tafti’s group as Post-doctoral fellow.
