Isa Özdemir obtained a Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology and genetics (MBGE) from Koç University in Turkey. He then joined the RNA biology laboratory of Prof. Funda Şar as a Master’s student at Koç University. His Master’s thesis focused on the roles of miRNAs in the regulation of proteostasis in C. elegans. Currently, he is a Ph.D. student in Gambetta’s laboratory and is working on gene regulation by CTCF protein in Drosophila Melanogaster.​
