Hello, my name is Oliver JOHN. I did my bachelor degree in Biomedical Science at the University of Malaya, Malaysia and my master’s degree in nutrition at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland.

My PhD was done at the University of Southern Queensland, Australia where I investigated the metabolic effects of several tropical fruits on obese animal model. My first postdoc in Malaysia was mainly on focusing the optimum extraction methods for the recovery of phytochemicals from fruits.

At the CIG, I will be joining Lopez- Mejia group to investigate the effects of specific phytochemicals on adipose tissue, and assess the metabolic pathways and RNA processing involved.
