Stephan Collins will join B. Thorens’ lab on 01.09.2011. Stephan research interests are at the interface between the genetics of Type 2 diabetes and the pathophysiology of insulin secretory defects. He obtained his D. Phil from Oxford University (UK) in the field of rodent genetics followed by a postdoctoral position at the Sanger Institute (Cambridge, UK) in human genetics. For 6 years, he worked as an active member of Patrik Rorsman’s laboratory working on several aspects of insulin exocytosis using genetic and physiological models.
