SystemsX.ch Fourth Call for Proposals

SystemsX.ch, the Swiss Initiative in Systems Biology, is issuing its Forth Call for Proposals.

The focus of the present Call is on :

  1. Interdisciplinary Pilot Projects (IPPs): innovative projects with a high risk to scientifically fail and / or seed projects. Up to ten Interdisciplinary Pilot Projects (IPP) will be funded.
  2. Interactions between Academia and Industry: Bridge 2 Industry (BIP) and Industrial Sabbaticals in Academia (ISA) projects.

Deadlines:

IPP:

Deadline for submission of proposals for IPP projects is January 15, 2011.

BIP and ISA:

Unlike the IPP projects, submission deadlines for BIP and ISA are more frequent to allow more flexibility in preparing a proposal together with industrial partners. Deadlines for BIP and ISA proposals are as follows (of each year):

  • February 1
  • May
  • August 1
  • November 1

The next deadline for BIP and ISA proposal is November 1, 2010.

Bourses d’échange/Exchange grants – Indo Swiss Joint Research Programme (ISJRP)

Chers Collègues,

L’Indo Swiss Joint Research Programme (ISJRP) a lancé son 4ème appel à projets pour des bourses d’échange. Nous vous remercions par avance de faire suivre ce message à tout doctorant et à tout scientifique en Suisse ou en Inde que ceci pourrait intéresser.

Deux possibilités de financement existent pour toutes les branches scientifiques et technologiques:

Research Fellowships (RF)
Ces bourses permettent à des doctorants en Suisse et en Inde d’entreprendre de la recherche et/ou de suivre une formation dans le pays correspondant.

Joint Utilisation of Advanced Facilities (JUAF)
Ces bourses sont destinées au corps enseignant senior et junior en Suisse et en Inde qui souhaite visiter un laboratoire, un département ou un institut du pays correspondant afin d’utiliser de l’équipement spécialisé, des installations, des ressources, des bibliothèques et/ou des bases de données.

Date d’échéance pour la soumission des projets: 30 novembre 2010

Dear Colleagues,

The Indo Swiss Joint Research Programme (ISJRP) has launched its fourth call for proposals for exchange grants. Please feel free to distribute this message to any interested Ph.D. students and scientists in Switzerland or India.

Two types of funding are on offer for all science and technology disciplines:

Research Fellowships (RF)
Grants for Ph.D. students from Switzerland and India who wish to conduct research and/or to obtain training in the counterpart country.

Joint Utilisation of Advanced Facilities (JUAF)
Grants for Swiss and Indian faculty and junior staff who wish to visit a laboratory, department or an institute of the counterpart country in order to utilise specialised equipment, facilities, resources, libraries and/or databases.

Release date: September 30th, 2010
!Proposal submission deadline: November 30th, 2010!

SystemsX.ch Third Call for Proposals

SystemsX.ch, the Swiss Initiative in Systems Biology, is issuing its Third Call for Proposals.

The focus of the third Call is on

1. Interdisciplinary PhD student projects(IPhDs): IPhD students are supervised by two mentors from different and complementarydisciplines. SystemsX.ch will fund about a dozen IPhD Projects over 3 years.

2. Interdisciplinary Pilot Projects (IPPs): innovative projects with a high risk to scientifically fail and / or seed projects. Up to ten Interdisciplinary Pilot Projects (IPP) will be funded.

Cotutelles de thèse entre universités suisses et françaises ou italiennes

Le Secrétariat d’Etat à l’éducation et à la recherche (SER) soutient financièrement environ 20 projets individuels de cotutelle de thèse pour autant qu’ils fassent l’objet d’une convention de coopération entre deux universités suisse et française. Le subside, de CHF 10’000 au maximum, sera versé à l’université suisse et doit être utilisé surtout pour faciliter la mobilité des directeurs de thèse et du doctorant. Continue reading

Swiss Government scholarships for university, fine arts and music schools for foreign students for the academic year 2010-2011

The Swiss government awards a range of scholarships to foreign students through the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS): university scholarships (Swiss universities and Federal Institutes of Technology), arts scholarships (schools of music and fine arts) and scholarships for universities of applied sciences. These scholarships provide graduates from all disciplines with the opportunity to pursue postgraduate studies or research in Switzerland at a public funded university or recognised institution.
