PhD or postdoctoral research position in single-cell transcriptomics

A PhD/postdoctoral research position is available in the laboratory of Prof. Serge Nef at the University of Geneva Medical School to study at the single cell level early developmental processes implicated in sex determination and steroidogenesis both in humans and mice. You will be involved in a unique research program investigating how progenitor cell differentiate during testis and adrenal development and characterizing the genetic programs at play in these cells. You will collect and capture single cells, perform single-cell RNA-seq, single-cell ATAC-seq and analyze the data.

Qualified candidates should be self-driven, independent and highly motivated individuals. Strong knowledge in cellular and genetic biology, NGS data analysis, UNIX environment (GNU / Linux on computing server) as well as programming (R, Python) is required. Excellent written and oral communication in English is also mandatory.  Knowledge in developmental biology and taste for experimental biology and preparation of sequencing librairies is desirable.

Employment is expected to begin before the end of 2018, but the exact start date is negotiable. The position is fixed-term for a minimum of 3 years and funded by Swiss National Science Foundation. Salaries and benefits will be provided according to the guidelines of University of Geneva.
