Post Doc for CHO Bioprocess Genomics (Biologics)

Description

Novartis is hiring a Postdoctoral Research Associate within Biologics Research & Development (BPRD). The candidate will contribute to the development of next generation cell culture bioprocesses based on Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cell lines. Objective is the identification of new targets for cell line modifications and the definition of selection criteria for next generation production cell lines/bioprocesses. The candidate should have an excellent background in Systems Biology as well as experience in conception and analysis of Omics studies (next gen sequencing and gene expression profiling).

Requirements

Profound Knowledge about Systems Biology of mammalian cells

Solid background in mammalian or Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cell lines of advantage

Experience in Gene Expression Profiling (Affymetrix)

Experience in Next Generation Sequencing (e.g. mRNA Seq, sequencing)

Conception, coordination and analysis of Omics studies

Knowledge in Bioprocess Development desirable

Knowledge in bioinformatics and statistical tools for analysis of huge data sets

Experience with scripting and programming tools of advantage

Experience in sequence data handling (e.g. alignment/blast/ search/mapping/annotations)

Integrative approach for data analysis

Integration into team of scientists, communication skills

Fields of Study

Systems biology, CHO/mammalian cell lines, bioprocess, bioinformatics, gene expression profiling, next generation sequencing, targets, markers
