Post doc – Bioinformatics – Neurogenetics

Workplace: Genova, IIT

Added on: 02/01/2018 – Expires on: 31/01/2018

In the Neurobehavioural Genetics group at the IIT we use a combination of approaches in the field of genetics, epigenetics, behaviour, electrophysiology and computation to study the genetics of sleep and circadian clock.

Our Research Line investigates the epigenomics of developmental changes that impact on the formation of sleep and circadian clock. Projects will be available in RNAseq and Methylome profiling of different circadian conditions and developmental stages in order to understand the link between epigenetic changes and adult phenotypes. Part of the project will be also dedicated to investigate online datasets in different species.

The ideal candidate for this position should have:

  • PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, epigenomics, genomics, or a related field;
  • Experience with epigenomics and transcriptomics data analysis;
  • Experience with large data-sets;
  • Proficiency in general-purpose programming language and scientific data processing;
  • Good publication record.
