Registration for FameLab 2020 Switzerland – deadline Feb. 21, 2020


FameLab 2020 is one of the biggest science communication competitions in the world.

The best participant will have the honor of representing Switzerland at the FameLab International final at the Cheltenham Science Festival in the UK.

The competition is open to everyone studying or working in STEM subjects (Life Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Geosciences, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Social Sciences).

Win over the crowd and the judges with an original 3-minute talk on a scientific topic of your choice. Be scientifically accurate, but clear and charismatic!

Let go of the PowerPoint safety net; you can bring on stage props or your best costume!

Get inspired by Swiss FameLab 2019 winner, Outman Akouissi (EPFL), Swiss FameLab 2018 winner, Dmitry Kopelyanskiy (UNIL), FameLab International 2019 winner Tim Gordon from the United Kingdom, and more!

FameLab dates in 2020 to save in your agenda are as follows:

  • Semi-final in Lausanne5th March
  • Semi-final in Zurich12th March
  • Semi-final in Basel19th March
  • Public speaking masterclass weekend at CERN (Geneva,4th-5th April) for the finalists
  • Swiss FameLab final (Bern, 9th May)
  • International competition at Cheltenham Science Festival (UK, June 2020)

Deadline for submitting your application is Friday 21st February 2020.
