The Swiss National Science Foundation visits the University of Lausanne

The Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) provides funding for basic research in all academic disciplines and support for more than 3,400 projects each year, making it Switzerland’s leading research funding organisation.

On 12 November 2015, as part of the Research Day at the University of Lausanne (UNIL), the SNSF will be presenting its research funding schemes and  programmes. With its information stands and presentations, the SNSF will provide participants with valuable information on, for example, the mobility fellowships for international research stays and the grants available for research projects.

Other funding agencies, such as the Commission for Technology and Innovation (CTI) and Euresearch as well as some UNIL departments, including the Grant Office, the PACTT and the Bureau de l’égalité (Equal Opportunities Office), will also be present with their own information stands.

This year’s Research Day programme, which you can find on the UNIL website*, includes lectures, a round table and targeted workshops. There will also be lots of time for researchers’ questions and opportunities to talk to current fellowship and grant holders.

UNIL and the SNSF would like to invite you to this event aimed at the entire Swiss research community, doctoral students, postdocs as well as faculty members. In today’s context of fierce scientific competition, it offers a unique opportunity to meet with specialists involved in the various SNSF funding schemes and programmes and have your questions answered.

The event is open to researchers from ail Swiss higher education institutions, attendance is free of charge and registration is not required. We would be grateful if you could pass this information on within your institution/department, and wish ta thank you in advance for your kind cooperation.

You can find more information about this event on the SNSF website at: www.snsf.ch/researchday
