SIB Awards – communication to partners
To promote excellence and innovation in the field of bioinformatics, SIB created the SIB Bioinformatics Awards ten years ago to acknowledge early career bioinformaticians and ground-breaking resources of national and international standing.
SIB Awards honour bioinformatics excellence in three categories:
- SIB Early Career Bioinformatics Award – an international award to recognise the excellence and promising nature of a researcher’s early career, based on one or several projects and/or papers focussing on the in silico analysis of biological sequences, structures or processes. More information
Call for entries: 10 January – 31 March 2019
- SIB Best Swiss Bioinformatics Graduate Paper Award – a national award that recognises outstanding papers published by a graduate student in the area of in silico analysis of biological sequences, structures or processes. More information
Call for entries: 10 January – 31 March 2019
- SIB Bioinformatics Resource Innovation Award – an international award that recognises newly developed bioinformatics resources with an important impact on life science research or the clear potential to make such an impact. More information
Call for entries: 4 February – 30 April 2019
Applications will be reviewed by a jury of international experts, with the winners to be announced during the awards ceremony of the 14th [BC]2 Basel Computational Biology Conference (part of the Basel Life Congress, 9-12 September 2019, Switzerland). All Awards carry a cash prize and laureates will be invited to give a plenary talk during the [BC]2 conference.
