This event is aimed at PhD students, but others are also welcome to attend.

Synthetic biology: the next industrial revolution?

Synthetic biology is a fast-growing interdisciplinary field that promises to engineer biological systems with potential applications in almost every aspect of our lives, including production of materials, disease detection and treatment, bioremediation, and data storage. Indeed, synthetic biology is predicted to fuel the next industrial revolution.

This afternoon will allow you to dive into this fascinating research field. After a short introduction into synthetic biology, two leading synthetic biologists will give a seminar about their research (45 min + 15 min for questions). After a break we will discuss in small groups about the future of synthetic biology and careers in the field.
