Technician / Research Assistant, defined period of time contract, 1 year, act. rate 100%

The Nestlé Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS) has recently been established to create and deliver world class excellence in biomedical research to better understand health and disease as influenced by genetics, metabolism and environment with the goal of translating this knowledge into personalized science-based nutrition. The Institute combines latest technologies and biomedical knowledge to study the molecular mechanisms of chronic diseases. Large-scale functional genomics and mass spectrometry capabilities are integrated with bioinformatics and systems biology to generate holistic molecular insights into nutritionally actionable conditions. Using this integrated systems approach we ultimately aspire to develop nutritional approaches for the prevention of disease and to facilitate healthy aging. To complete our Diabetes & Circadian Rhythms Department, we are currently looking for a Technician / Research Assistant. Your main responsibilities will be to contribute experimentally to research projects and optimize lab organization.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the administrative organization of Diabetes & Circadian teams

Perform basic biochemical and cellular experiments in the laboratory to support research projects

Education and experience

Master (or equivalent) degree / certificate in Biochemistry, Cell biology or Physiology

Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience as a lab-based technician

Knowledge and skills to perform basic cell culture and biochemical experiments under supervision of senior scientists

Experience in preclinical studies is a plus factor

Fluent in English
