Sarah Mathews, an evolutionary biologist from the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, will spend 2 month in the Fankhauser lab (starting on September 28, 2010) to study how key evolutionary changes may have led to innovations in the phytochrome family of plant photoreceptors.
