Three Professor positions at the Université Paris Sud

The Biology Department of the Faculté des Sciences d’Orsay (Université Paris-Sud, France) and the future Institute of Integrative Biology of the Cell seek to fill:

Three positions of Professor in Bioinformatics, Genetics, Molecular Biology.

The candidate should have a proven track record in relevant disciplines.

Professor in Bioinformatics

The professor will organize and teach courses on Bioinformatics and analysis of genomic data. He/she will be involved in the Masters of “Biology and Health” and “Bioinformatics and Biostatistics”. He/she will develop a research program in one of the following fields: development of computational methods for analysis of functional genomics data; integration of multi-scale data; evolutionary dynamics of cellular networks.

Professor in Molecular Biology and Epigenetics

The professor will organize and teach courses in Molecular Biology and in Epigenetics in Licence and in Master “Biology-Health”. His/her research project will focus on epigenetic control of gene expression and/or the role of non-coding RNA in gene expression and genome transmission, using eukaryotic models.

For this permanent position, a scientist with an outstanding track record may benefit from a starting package (Chaire IDEX from the Université Paris-Saclay).

Professor in Genetics

The professor will organize and teach Fundamental Genetics courses in Licence and Master of “Biology and Health”. He/she will develop a research program on one of the following topics: cell cycle, dynamics and stability of genomes, segregation of chromosomes, and their impact on transmission of hereditary traits, using eukaryotic models.

The three professors will set up their research groups at the future Institute for the Integrative Biology of the Cell (I2BC) on the Gif-sur-Yvette campus. The “Institute for Integrative Biology of the Cell” is affiliated to CNRS, CEA and University Paris-Sud. I2BC will be composed of 800 personnel’s working on Life functions in humans, animals, plants and microbes. It will be organized in five Disciplinary Departments: Biochemistry, Biophysics and Structural Biology; Cell Biology; Genome Biology; Microbiology; Virology.

Teaching is mainly in French.
