Hello there! I’m Andrey, a physicist from Saint Petersburg. Although my expertise lies in Semiconductor Physics with a PhD, I’ve always had a passion for Biology and found inspiration in the beauty of Nature. My PhD thesis focused on label-free DNA detection and identification with semiconductor nanoelectronic devices.
Following my doctoral studies, I became a postdoc at the Lab of Nanoscale Biology at EPFL, where I researched artificial nanopores – tiny holes in semiconductor membranes that mimic cells’ ionic channels.
Now, I’m excited to be part of GTF, using my nanopore expertise to develop new technology for DNA library qualification in NGS.
I am always happy to chat about technologies and how we can use the perks of material science in biotech. Else I am passionate about playing music.
See you around!
