Gustavo Ruiz Buendia did his bachelor’s in Genomic Sciences at UNAM in Mexico. During his undergraduate program he spent one year in the laboratory of David Specter in Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, studying the nuclear positioning of genes involved in metastasis.

He did his masters in Molecular Life Sciences at UNIL under the supervision of Vincent Dion studying the chromatin conformation of trinucleotide repeat loci. As an iPhD fellow since February 1st in the group of Prof. Vincent Dion, Gustavo will continue to determine the nuclear organization and chromatin structure of expanded repeat loci.
