Laura Sposito is a biologist from Palermo (Italy). She’ve done her Master degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Palermo. During her Master thesis she studied some SNPs and altered methylation of CpG island associated with the risk of hepatocellular carcinoma.
Since she has attended the first lecture of genetics, she has been attracted by it and she has been interested in diseases that have a genetic explanation and in particular she is interested in inheritance diseases most of which are often caused by genetic alterations
On the 1st of November she joined Winship’s group to investigate the effect of known mutations related to intellectual disability upon the ability of the N-terminal of HCF-1 to interact with the other human proteins
