Welcome to Michele!

Michele Marconcini obtained his Master’s degree in molecular biology and genetics, molecular and cellular biology at the University of Pavia. There, he first worked in the laboratory of Prof. Anna Malacrida, where he studied the population genetics of the invasive mosquito species Aedes albopictus connected to the risk of arboviral outbreaks. Then, he worked in the Bonizzoni Lab, where he studied the evolution and the role of different sRNA pathways in the establishment of persistent viral infection in mosquitoes.

He joined the Benton Lab in October 2020 to investigate cross-species genomics and transcriptomics connected to behavioural differences.
