Welcome to Nicolò

Bonjour à tous! My name is Nicolò Tesio and I am an Italian medical student enrolled in the fifth year of the MD PhD program of the School of Medicine of the University of Torino. I will join Professor Alexandre Reymond laboratory at the Centre Intégratif de Génomique for a two-month internship this spring (March 2022-May 2022).

Since the second year of medical school, I have had the opportunity to take part in different research projects in the fields of cancer, genetic diseases, and innovative therapies. In the past year, I have been working under the supervision Professor G.B. Ferrero at the Thalassemia and Hemoglobinopathies Reference Center at the San Luigi Gonzaga University Hospital focusing on the characterization of erythropoiesis in thalassemic patients treated with the novel drug Luspatercept.

I am very fascinated by the role genomic technologies will play in the medicine of the next future. I joined Professor Alexandre Reymond research group with the aim of expanding my knowledge and expertise in the field of genomic medicine by learning how novel causative variants of neurodevelopment disorders are identified and functionally validated.

I look forward to meeting you at the CIG!
