Sanyami Zunjarrao obtained her integrated Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biotechnology from the Institute of Bioinformatics and Biotechnology, Savitribai Phule Pune University in India, in 2019.
For her master’s thesis, she worked in the lab of Dr. Beena Pillai at the Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology in India, investigating the role of non-coding RNAs in the regeneration of earthworms. Her work focused on studying the localization and expression patterns of novel non-coding RNAs in regenerating earthworms.
After her graduation, she joined the National Chemical Laboratory in India as a project assistant, where she worked in the lab of Dr. Ashok Giri to help genetically engineer fungus to obtain a high Penicillin-producing strain. She will join the Gambetta group in September 2022 as a Ph.D. student.
