“Metabolic regulation of

adult neural stem cell activity”

 

Marlen Knobloch began her academic career by studying biology at the University of Zürich. She completed her Master’s thesis in Neurobiology in 2002, under Professor Isabelle M. Mansuy (ETHZ) and Professor Rüdiger Wehner (University of Zürich). She joined the group of Professor R. Nitsch (Division of Psychiatry Research and Neuroscience Center, University of Zürich) to study Alzheimer’s disease and obtained her PhD in 2007. Since 2008, Marlen Knobloch is working as a post-doctoral fellow in the group of Professor S. Jessberger at the Institute of Cell Biology at ETH Zürich and at the Brain Research Institute (University of Zürich), where she is studying the role of lipid metabolism in adult neural stem cells. Since 2011, she has been collaborating with Prof. Matthias Lütolf’s group at the EPFL as a guest scientist.
