“Domestic animals – a treasure trove for studies of genotype-phenotype relationships”

In this talk I will describe how we have used next-generation sequences to reveal loci that has been under strong selection during the evolution of the domestic chicken and how the molecular characterization of such loci can provide  new basic knowledge of relevance for biology and human medicine.
