External job opening: Senior research/s officer/s – antibody discovery- phage display library generation & selection

For one of our clients, a fast growing Biotherapeutics company located at the Biopole (Lausanne), we are looking for a:

SENIOR RESEARCH OFFICER/RESEARCH OFFICERS- ANTIBODY DISCOVERY- PHAGE DISPLAY LIBRARY GENERATION & SELECTION

ROLE OVERVIEW

Our successful candidates will join an innovative antibody/protein engineering department with a strong record of success in developing novel antibody therapeutics in the field of immune- oncology and autoimmune diseases. You will collaborate across the matrix team to design and generate phage display libraries and selections to advance the portfolio.

We invite an interactive and creative individual who possesses sufficient scientific knowledge as well as some strong hands-on experience in phage display to deliver the next wave of novel therapeutics to the patients.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Lead, design and execute the generation of synthetic and immune phage display libraries
  •  Perform phage display selections
  •  Participate in phage display screening campaigns
  •  Implement new methods for antibody discovery
  •  Present and discuss data in English in both informal and formal settings
  •  Maintain detailed and organized documentation
  •  Participate in day-to-day laboratory management
  •  Perform other relevant duties as required.
  •  Collaborate across the matrix to advance the portfolio
  •  Comply with all safety guidelines

REQUIREMENTS:

  • PhD, Master’s / Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology or    other related fields
  •  At least 2-3 years of experience in a relevant industry/academic setting
  •  Experience in antibody phage display library generation and selection
  •  Proficiency in molecular biology techniques (RNA extraction, RT-PCR, PCR, cloning, primer
  • design) and DNA sequence analysis software
  •  Experience with flow cytometry and ELISA methods
  •  Knowledge of immune library cloning and next generation sequencing (NGS) is a plus
  •  Strong English communication skills, both oral and written
  •  Rigorous, excellent organization skills, autonomous, hands-on and team minded
  •  Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to present to all levels of the
  • organization
  •  Proven experience in problem analysis/solving
  •  Proactive, reactive and adaptable
