Welcome to Philippe who will join Prof. Thorens’Lab next January as a MD-PhD student.

Philippe comes from German-speaking Switzerland. He began his medical studies at the University of Fribourg and obtained, after a subsequent change to the University of Lausanne, his  Master of Medicine.

Welcome to Johanna who joined Prof. Thorens’Lab in November as a  Master student – Trainee for 8 months.

Johanna comes from Germany. She began her studies of Molecular Life Sciences/ Biomedical Sciences at the University of Maastricht and obtained her Bachelor of Science in the summer of 2011.

Currently she is following the Master program of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Maastricht and will perform her senior project and the writing of the Master thesis at the Center for Integrative Genomics.

   Welcome to Davide  who will join Prof. Thorens’Lab next September.

Davide obtained his PhD in april 2010 at the University of Bari, Dept. of General and Environmental Physiology,  working in the group of Prof. Antonio Frigeri on the effects of microgravity in skeletal muscle (Italian Space Agency fellowship).

He then continued as post-doctoral research fellow looking at the characterization of the physiological role of Aquaporin-4 water channel in skeletal muscle.
