Welcome to Benedikt !

My name is Benedikt Dürr and I hold a master of science degree in human biology from LMU Munich. Previous to that I studied biology in my bachelor’s degree (LMU).

This fall I would like to join Dr. Thomas Auer’s lab for an internship to extend my current knowledge in the field of evolutionary and behavioural neuroscience.
I take this as a chance to learn research techniques used in the recently established model organism Drosophila sechellia. These methods, which focus on the fruit fly’s nervous system, include histological sample preparation, connectomic analysis and single cell sequencing, to name but a few.
I am planning to apply the gained knowledge during my PhD and future research projects.
