My name is Romane Meurs and I will be doing an internship in David Gatfield’s lab for the next 3 months. I am a 2nd year master student in biochemistry and cellular & molecular biology at the “Université Libre de Bruxelles” (Belgium).

I was previously doing my master thesis on hypoxia translation mechanisms in S2 drosophila cells at the “Institut de biologie et médecine moléculaire” (IBMM).
In David Gatfield’s lab, I will be investigating the role of the recycling factor eIF2D on the translation efficiency of mARNs that contain uORF.
