Post-doctoral position in Cell Biology and Biochemistry
A one-year renewable Post-doctoral position is available in the Dumont group at
the IJM – Institut Jacques Monod (http://www.ijm.fr/en/ijm/research/researchgroups/cell-division-and-reproduction) in Paris, France. The primary focus of
the group is on the mechanisms of oogenesis with a particular emphasis on
oocyte meiotic divisions in two powerful model systems: C. elegans and mice (for
a recent review see Dumont & Desai; Trends in Cell Biology, 2012).
Candidates should have a strong background in C. elegans and/or mice cell biology.
Expertise in biochemistry, genetics or electron microscopy methods would also be
welcome. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology or
Biochemistry and have at least one first author publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
A strong knowledge of English is also required. In addition, good communication
skills, enthusiasm and self-motivation are wanted.
The Dumont group is provided with a fully equipped cell biology, biochemistry and
microscopy laboratory and is embedded in a highly collaborative and multidisciplinary environment.
Initial funding is available but candidates are expected to apply for post-doctoral
fellowships. Potential candidates should send their application to Dr. Julien DUMONT
(dumont(at)ijm.univ-paris-diderot.Fr) with a Curriculum Vitae, a detailed letter of
motivation, the contact details of their Ph.D. supervisor and contacts for 2 additional
