Welcome to Danilo!

Hi everyone!

I’m Danilo Giarlini, I obtained my Bachelor ‘s degree in Biology and my Master’s degree in Neurobiology from “Sapienza” University of Rome, Italy.

During my master’s thesis internship, I studied the involvement of a specific hippocampal protein – Complexin-2 – in spatial learning and memory in mice in the laboratory of Prof. Andrea Mele. Since I’m really interested in investigating the anatomy and function of neural circuits, I decided to apply for the PhD position in the lab of Dr. Sophie Croizier, to study the development of hypothalamic neuronal networks, how they respond to stress and mediate feeding behavior in mice. I can’t wait to start this new promising project!

In Lausanne, I hope to learn French, learn snowboarding and know awesome people from all over the world 😉
