Welcome to Andrey!

Andrey Lazopulo received his master’s degree from the Department of Physics of the Lomonosov Moscow State University.
During his undergraduate studies, he worked within a medical physics group and learnt how physics is applied to study medicine and biology.

He did his diploma project at the Russian Academy of Science Institute of Protein Research, where he studied protein-RNA interactions using x-ray crystallography and molecular dynamics.

In 2012, Andrey was accepted to the University of Miami Graduate school. He carried out his thesis project in the Dr. Sheyum Syed lab, where he studied the mechanisms of the circadian clock and sleep homeostat in the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster. He received his Ph.D. in 2018 and then continued his work with Dr. Syed as an affiliated postdoc.  From March 2021, he will work as post-doctoral fellow in the Franken lab.
