Welcome to Dominik!

Tjena!

I am Dominik Tischer and I just arrived from Stockholm.

After I finished my Bachelor in Sport science in Vienna, I wanted to go deeper into understanding molecular and physiological processes, why I moved to Örebro to start my Master in Sports physiology and medicine. During my master thesis I investigated the effect of different exercise intensities on oral glucose tolerance and mitochondrial function in healthy adults which made me more and more interested in molecular pathways and the importance of genes in context of insulin resistance and obesity.

This was also why I joined Isabel’s Lab as her PhD student to investigate the regulation of gene expression at the post-transcriptional level by alternative splicing in response to various macronutrients. If I am not in the lab, I am either climbing or going for long runs in the mountains, so hit me up if you want to join!
