PhD student position available in Medical Mycology in 2013
A PhD student position is immediately available at the Institute of Microbiology
(IMUL) of the University of Lausanne and University Hospital Center for investigating the molecular basis of fitness costs of antifungal drug resistance in the human pathogen Candida albicans. The project is funded for three years (2013-2016) by the Swiss Research National Foundation. The project will use several omics approaches to address how clinical isolates can compensate in their hosts for the loss of fitness that is one of the consequence of developing drug resistance. The candidate should possess good skills in Microbiology and Molecular Biology. Experience in Bioinformatics and with mammalian cell cultures and animal models will be an advantage but not a prerequisite for the application.
